an engagement ring is actually more flashy! a wedding ring is more simple.
You can do whatever you want!!!
Traditionally, the engagement ring has jewels on it (very traditional; just one diamond). Mine has sapphires and diamonds. The wedding ring is a plain band that goes underneath the engagement ring. They are sometimes sold as a set, but often come separately.
Some ladies just like to wear one ring. It’s up to you!
Usually an engagement ring has bigger stones, and is usually the more expensive of the two. Wedding bands are usually either just gold with no stones, or have a few or many smaller stones around the ring. Ultimately it’s up to you though, you’re the one that’s going to be wearing it, so pick what YOU like.
An engagement ring is the one your fiance gives you, it usually has a single diamond or “solitare”, the wedding ring is usually the band that compliments the ring and is used at the wedding. however you can use one as both.
it’s probably technically an anniversary ring (past, present, future), unless the center stone is a LOT bigger than the other 2 stones. If it’s a large center stone with two smaller stones, it’s engagement. If the 3 stones are almost the same size, it’s probably an anniversary – either way, I don’t think it’s a wedding ring. Usually those have many smaller stones, not just 3. Even if you like an anniversary band, you can use it as an engagement ring if you would like.

an engagement ring is, traditionally, the ting your FH picks out to give to you when he proposes to you.
the wedding ring is the ring that you use when you actually get married.
engagement rings are usually fancier, a lot of times with a stone or stones on them. wedding rings have traditionally been plain or minimally embellished bands.
women usually wear both rings on their finger. you can’t really fir two flashy rings on one finger, can you?
AN engagement ring is generally centered around one large stone or a large cluster of stones. While a wedding band is simply that a band… it can have diamonds…. heres

Traditionally, Rings that have stones in them are considered engagement rings, Where as wedding rings are usually plain bands.
Engagement sets the intention for marrying while the wedding ring is the solid promise and knowing of legal marraige.
Engagement rings “usually” have a large center diamonds. Wedding bands are set with evenly sized diamonds. This is not always the case but considering popularity engagement rings tend to have a larger and raised center diamond or color stone.

Great quesion – I was afraid to ask….
Engagement ring is traditionally given upon the request for hand in marriage. Engagement ring may be a diamond or colored stone. It can also be made out of either white gold or platinum. The wedding ring is then given at the altar or ceremony during vows. The wedding ring can be either plain or made with many smaller diamonds. This is entirely your choice and your taste. The wedding band can also be made either from white gold or platinum..It is advisable that the same metal chosen for the engagement ring should then be used for the wedding band.
Wedding bands come in handy when travelling. The engagement ring can be left safely in the bank and she can wear the wedding band which won’t garner too much attention but still displays the symbol of being married.
Being more specific – I got this explanation from Wikipedia
Pre-wedding customs
According to some customs, the wedding ring forms the last in a series of gifts, which also may include the engagement ring, traditionally given as a betrothal present.
In older times, the wedding rings did not only signify a sign of love, but were also linked to the bestowal of ‘earnest money’. According to the prayer book of Edward VI: after the words ‘with this ring I thee wed’ follow the words ‘This gold and silver I give thee’, at which point the groom was supposed to hand a leather purse filled with gold and silver coins to the bride. This site gives you some ideas on what typical engagement rings may look like.
