Wedding shoes for me and my man- height difference?
I need some wedding shoes for me and my fella. The problem is that I am 5 foot 10 and he is 5 foot 7 (ish). I know he is never going to look taller than me, but I thought maybe I could get some shoes for him with quite a thick sole or something so the difference wasn’t as obvious. Does anyone have any idea where to go? (we’re in England). Also, I was planning on wearing flat ballet shoes, but I would like something pretty (with maybe a bit of sparkle or something), again, where should I go?
I know that our height isn’t the most important thing, and people won’t care. I don’t really care, i’m kinda used to it after 8 and a half years together! I just want the photo’s to look good!!!

why even worry who is taller or by how much
if you love each other thats all that matters at a wedding
Standard mens dress shoes usually have a heel of about 1″ to an 1 1/2″ in addition inserts can lift him slightly if you are concerend and can be purchased on line. Here is a list of places that sell them.

Good luck and belive me no one will care about the hieght difference
My bf and me are having the same problem, I am 5 foot 7 and he is 5 foot 4. I asked him if he thought I should wear flat shoes when we get married and he told me no. He told me like I’m telling you, weddings for some reason mean more to women then they do to men so wear what ever you want. If you want to wear heels then wear heels. Don’t let your height difference bother you specially at your wedding, because I seriously doubt it is bothering him
Wow I don’t know. Never been to England. Maybe you could ask someone there. Bit its only a few inches different so I would not worry so much. It’s a time to pronounce your love to one another and before your family and friends. You may even be able to look back on this as something special to share with children and grandchildren. Congrats and many happy years for you and yours
There is such a thing as “Lifters” which men actors use when their leading lady is taller. I’m not sure in England where to find them, but I’m guessing either a shoe repair shop or Men’s Clothing store who also sells dress shoes.
Just don’t worry about it, and he won’t be comfortable with wearing lifts in his shoes – just take him as he is.
And flats don’t just have to be ballet-style – I had really nice dressy slingbacks with like a 1/2 inch heel at most.
buy him a pair of high heels lol
Try shoebuy, they have quite alot of styles.
I would talk to the place where you are renting his tuxedo (assuming you are doing so), they might be able to help you out with some inserts, and the dress shoes themselves will make him much taller.
Ballet flats are the best. I am wearing silver ones for my wedding that are from Aldo. They had some cute ones in there.
same problem same height difference
i ordered his shoes at increasingshoes.com
they came in 4 days. they look great and he wore them at a wedding we went to together to break them in and get comfortable in them before our wedding.
i also bought shoes for me that were 1 1/4 inch heals for me then i brought them to a shoe repair store and for 7 dollars he cut them and made them even shorter so i still have a slight heel for feeling dressy.
target online has ballet flats also
Hi there
I have the same problem. I’m 5’11” and my fiance is 5’10”. I bought some flat ballet style pumps (but they’re white and have all beading and embroidery on them so they look weddingy!) These where from Ebay (item number 230150193779 – they’re brand new from a shoe shop and come in all sizes) If you’re wearing a big dress you can do this as nobody will see them anyway.
As for him Barratts do some shoes with an inch heel on them (they are really nice but are slightly built up (just enough to give him a little bit of height. A ood photographer will come in handy also (standing him on slightly higher ground etc) Have you ever seen the Tomcat wedding pics?!
Hope this helps.
Wow, pretty petty. Maybe you should reconsider if you’re that shallow.
I can understand you love him and quite rightly height doesn’t matter. Get him some shoes with a sturdy heel which adds just a little bit of height. Hopefully, where you are being married there will be some steps. Let him stand in the one above (or you on the one below). Bridesmaids or wedding party can stand in front and lo and behold fantastic shots!!! Wishing you all the very best.
Well don’t you think the photographs will look good if he doesn’t wear the thick soled shoes – rubbish, love him for who he is not for not how you look side by side in a photograph.
