The bride and female bridal party’s hair should never be forgotten when planning a wedding. In this article I will present you with some beautiful wedding flower deigns for the hair.

While the bride’s hair may be hidden during the ceremony it is exposed for everyone to see at the reception. Most brides remove their veils within 30 minutes of arriving at the reception hall. The removal of the veil is like a sign that reads, “Let the Party Begin!” Of course the maid of honor and bridesmaid hair is not hidden during any part of a wedding. The following wedding flower design ideas for the hair will hopefully help you decide on a terrific flowery hair-do.

Realizing that the 60’s have come and gone I will try to keep these ideas tasteful and simple. Unless of course you want a flower child wedding theme then all the power to you! Peace be with you as you and your gal pals make those groovy flowers!

Traditionally the bride’s flowers will be white or ivory. The maid of honor and bridesmaid will have flowers that are the same color as their dresses or a shade lighter or darker.

· Flower Tierra Veil – Not only is this a fairytale type veil, the Tierra can be decorated with flowers and wore through out the entire wedding. The veil portion just needs to be removed. I have always loved the Tierra look! Decorated with dainty flowers and small shinny beads the bride will feel like a fairy princess and look like one too.

· Handmade Single Flowers – You can choose any flower you would like for your hair and your bridal parties hair. The easiest flowers to make with crepe paper or mulberry paper are the following; the Lilly, peony and the gardenia. Aside from being easy to make these flowers also attach well to barrettes, hair clips and headbands. The best part of making these flowers yourself is you can make the bottom portion (the part that will attach to the clip, headband or barrette flat and smooth.) You can make them large enough to cover an entire bun style hair-do or small enough to have 12 of them on one headband. You also have the ability to make a flower that will fit on a bobby pin for a little flower girl who still has very thin hair.

· Floral Wreath Headpiece – This headpiece reminds me of the lei they place around your neck when you step off the airplane in Hawaii. I suppose because that is basically what it is. Orchids are very popular with these headpieces. However, you can choose any flower you would like to make it. You can purchase the floral head wreath at a floral shop or make your own using a semi thick smooth rope. You will most likely need a few bobby pins to hold it in place regardless of which one you choose to wear. For the bride this wreath often replaces the traditional veil all together. The best part of this flower hair design is you can make any flower or combination of flowers and colors to assemble it.

· The Wrap Around Piece – This hairpiece is designed with brides and females with short hair in mind. It is a simple piece of colored or white cloth wrap that you can decorate with flowers, beads, and even a few leaves if you would like. To attach your crepe paper or mulberry paper flowers you will need fabric glue or to be on the safe side the flowers should be sewn on. This headpiece does require a little more work but it is well worth it.

Flowers make a gorgeous statement! All of these wedding flower deigns for the hair will be screaming look at me “I’m Beautiful!” All the while you will be proud knowing that you created the flowery masterpiece in your hair that everyone is complimenting you on!
