With readymade designer Indian sarees in town, it has become possible for ladies of other than South Asian origin to wrap and enjoy this beautiful traditional garment with ease.

The most difficult part in designer sari wrapping is how to follow each step as it seems awfully difficult when tried for the first time. Taking up the pleats and bringing the entire material all over the body might sound to be a real difficult task for a novice, but with practice it becomes very easy that you can finish up the job in just two minutes. This, however, will not avoid most ladies taking on at least a quarter of an hour to wear that special designer Indian sari for a wedding or a party, for these occasions demand superior dressing skills that take time!

You might have dreamt about easy to wear saree and how things can change up if something like that gets introduced into the market. Of course, earlier such pre stitched sarees were brought into shops but did not match up to high standards when worn. After wearing such ready to wear sarees, often it showed up that the entire thing was pre-stitched, thus resulting in a lot of embarrassment among those who tried this new concept. No wonder then that it started moving away from the world of fashion.

Ever since, experts and designers have been concentrating to bring about something which looked exactly like how a traditional designer Indian saree was worn. It was after years of painstaking research and experiments that the new easy to wear designer sari was launched. This new version was highly appreciated by all who tried this new stuff.

Beautifully wrapped gifts indicate that you have put forth both time and effort in create wonderfully personalized gifts. First impressions make lasting impressions! Since the presentation of gifts is important, there are many ways to add your own personal touch.

A gift can be personalized for the holiday or special occasion. Another way is by using the recipient’s favorite colors or by using wrapping materials that reflect a hobby or special interest.

By using innovative ways to wrap gifts, you can save money as well by using materials that are readily available at very little cost to you.

Gift Wrapping Materials:

Create an attractive wrapped gift by choosing unusual wrapping paper or other materials. Use sheet music for the music lover, maps for those who enjoy traveling, or newspaper for anyone who keeps up with what’s going on in the world. Use specific sections of a newspaper such as the sports pages, comics, etc. Other paper products that are usable are the pages from telephone books, magazines, coloring books, or comic books. Paper doilies, decorative paper napkins, aluminum foil, crepe paper, or brown craft paper are unique paper products that work well for wrapping gifts.

In addition to paper wrapping materials, delicate fabrics such as tulle, netting, organza, and chiffon are lovely for feminine gifts. Color coordinate the gift box with sheer fabric so the color blend nicely if the box shows through the fabric. Add a satin or sheer organza ribbon and loosely tie the ribbon into a bow. When using fabric, wrap gift boxes as usual or wrap as you would a gift basket by pulling extra fabric over the top of the gift with enough fabric to tie with a ribbon. If desired, tie a pretty silk flower in with the ribbon.

One of my favorite wrapping papers come from purchased shopping gift bags. My local dollar store has hundreds of different designs for one dollar each. The paper used in these bags in heavier than purchased gift wrap and many of the papers have a shiny finish. Simply cut them into the size you need for wrapping your gift and don’t forget to use the matching gift tag.

Ribbon, Bows, and More:

Coordinate the color and type of ribbon used with the gift wrapping. Raffia and twine are better for gifts that are not feminine in content. Satin, sheer organza, or grosgrain ribbon in patterns or solid colors are lovely for feminine gifts. Ribbon with wire on the sides is easier to tie in a structured-type of bow than ribbon without wire. Curly ribbon is always nice and the easiest to work with. You can combine several colors or add a fixed bow or allow extra curled ribbon to cascade onto the gift.

Decorative Items:

Adding small items is a great way to dress up your gifts as well as to tie in the theme of the gift. Choose a rattle or small toy for a baby gift. Add small white wedding bells to a bridal shower or wedding gift. Tie candy canes or small ornaments into the ribbon on Christmas gifts. Small toys, decorative cookie cutters, silk flowers, and any other small unbreakable items that can be tied with ribbon will be nice additions to complete your gifts.

Cello bags are inexpensive, keep your gifts dust free, and make gifts easy to transport. These bags are also used to wrap gift baskets, but they are wonderful for potted plants as well as for unusual shaped gifts. They are available in clear, many colors, as well as many decorative designs. You can purchase these bags in some card stores as well as party stores.

Gift Wrapping – Is There An Art To It?

There is an art to gift wrapping and for some naturally creative people it comes easy. For the rest of us though it can require a bit more effort but with a bit of imagination, inspiration and determination every gift you give will make an impressive impact. Gift giving is an important part of our societies and helps define and strengthen our relationships with family and friends. With any gift that we give we should always make the presentation an important part of the gesture.

We need to remember that giving a gift isn’t just about the item we give (a gift can be much more than just something materialistic but for this example I am referring to something tangible) it’s the action of giving and receiving, it’s not just what’s in the box that gives us butterflies. Remember that feeling when you received a beautifully wrapped gift? The anticipation. The mystery. A smile is guaranteed.”

So how can we make sure that we do justice to our gift giving and ensure our giftee gets the full experience of receiving a gift? Well, with a little bit of planning and forethought it can be easy.

Let me help you make your gift wrapped like a piece of art.

Consider the age of your recipient. Does Grandma love lace? Incorporate it into your wrapping. Gift wrapping for a boy? Incorporate a hobby they enjoy, a picture of a car or a sport they enjoy. A gift for a parent? Get the kids to decorate some plain paper and finish it off with a nice bow. A gift for a baby? How about a small rattle tied to the bow. A wedding gift or a bridal shower gift? Try small wedding bells tied to the bow. Christmas gifts look great with a candy cane tucked under the bow. There are so many things you can incorporate, if you’re on a budget discount shops have large selections of bits and pieces you can choose from.

Consider their likes and dislikes. Is your recipient environmentally conscious? Use brown paper and a sprig of rosemary. Are they an avid reader? Use newspaper print. Do they have a favourite colour? Use a colour scheme they love.

Consider the size of the gift. Very large gifts might be too big to gift wrap. You could do something like putting it behind a screen and doing a big reveal to your giftee.

If gift wrapping isn’t your forte you can always ask someone else to do it for you. Perhaps a family member, a friend or try your local gift store who I’m sure will be more than willing to expertly wrap your gift for a nominal fee.

So next time you’re giving a gift, don’t just hand it to them in the bag your purchased it in, make that extra little effort. The anticipation and surprise you create for your giftee upon seeing your gift will have you both smiling!
