I am buying a burnished gold (not like gold lame, much duller) shift dress to wear to a wedding but have no idea what colour accessories, shoes or bag would go best, I was thinking black but then I changed my mind… I have no idea? Thanks
Basically I have a wedding a week today it’s daytime at a church 1pm then the reception is a hotel down the Gower in West Wales.
I was going to go shopping tomorrow to get the perfect dress I know it was short notice to begin with but I am currently on a high dose of medication that makes me gain weight so I didn’t want to spend a great deal in advance for it not to fit anyway as of yesterday had a £1045 bill for repairs on my car *DIE* so now I cannot afford a new dress.
My friend has this dress which fits like a dream! But when she showed me the pic it looked more off white / creamy but it is definitely white. The flowers are very large but I’m not sure!!
Also in case some comments on the length not being suitable I’m only 5″2 so the shortest hem comes to my knee and the longest part way passed it!
I am very grateful to my mother, but I would rather have my own wedding dress to wear for my big day.
I am not sure if it could be modified to make it more up to date?
Is it common for a girl to wear her mothers wedding dress?
I am transgender and had thought of just wearing a trouser suit for the registry office but it is my big day and feel that I would like to be married in a wedding dress which brings the issue of my mother suggesting her dress for the occasion.
since becoming a woman, my mother has always said that if I ever got married then she would want me to do it in her dress.
