Planning Your Next Party

No matter what type of party you plan, you will need to have a plan of action if you want everything to go smoothly. If this is the first time, you have planned a party or you have planned many before this guide will give you ideas of how to prepare for a party and what needs to be done before the big day arrives.

Theme – Event – Holiday

The first section of how to prepare is all about the reason you are throwing a party. Is it for a special holiday, birthday, graduation, anniversary, or bridal shower? You will need to decide the type of party you wish to plan. Even if you plan a bridal shower or a birthday party there are many things to take into consideration such as the age of the participates, if you desire to use a theme, do you want the party indoors or outdoors, do you need to rent a location for the party, and so on and so forth. When you have all of items planned out, you are ready to start taking notes.

What will you serve?

Now that you know what type of party you desire to give, the location, and you have a guest list prepared, you need to decide what types of treats will be served. Do you only want snack items or do you prefer a large 6-course meal? This is where a good caterer will come in handy, unless you wish to do all the cooking for the entire party. Party planners can also aid in helping you with all the particulars if you have doubts.

What you need

Okay you are ready for step two. If you are renting a location for the party, you will need to learn what they include in the rental. You will need enough seating for all guests, the dinnerware or what is needed for the food or snacks you plan to serve, drinks, cups, games if you desire, prizes for games, music, and of course decorations.

Invitations

Invitations should always be sent 6 weeks prior to the event. This way the guests will have plenty of time to RSVP and make plans to attend. You can create your own invitations, buy ones already made, or have ones especially created for your party. On the invitations, you should include the location, date, and time along with directions for those that may not know where to go. If you have any other particulars such as a themed party, you should also include this with the invitation, such as if you plan a beach party for a bridal shower. Each guest should come dressed for the beach with gifts appropriate for the party.

Plan – Plan – Plan

Now, it is time to sit down and plan the event from the beginning to the end. You should know exactly what will be done first all the way to the leaving of each guest. Of course, you cannot plan to the exact moment that you will proceed onto the next thing on your list due to such things as how long it will take to open gifts, etc…, but you will have a schedule in hand and things will go more smoothly.

The wedding day is approaching fast, so it’s probably time to start thinking about the bachelorette party. Planning it should be fun, so don’t sweat the fact that you know nothing about them.

Like with other kinds of parties, bachelorette party planning starts with a couple of important decisions. Figure out the location, then move on the the fun stuff you can do during the party.

First, figure out where the bride would be most comfortable. The reason is because some of the activities can be a little embarassing. Having it in public may be more than the bride can handle.

If she doesn’t embarrass easily, having it out in public will probably work. If she’s shy, and doesn’t like a lot of attention, then giving her some of those naughty, male-member type gifts at the local bar probably isn’t a good idea. The name of the game is fun, so doing anything to totally embarrass the bride-to-be would be a waste her last night out as a single girl.

When planning your activities for the party, you can be as conservative or as crazy as the bride-to-be’s personality will allow. You don’t want to plan anything like a male stripper for your friend if she’s extremely straight-laced and would hate you forever if you did it. On the other side of that, you don’t want to plan a knitting party for your friend who loves to party into the night at the local clubs.

Here are just a few of the fun bachelorette party games/activities that are available:

Suck for a Buc The Cherry Game A scavenger hunt Bridal Pictionary Bridal Shower Bingo Karaoke Pin the “Tail” on the Hunk

No matter which way you decide to go (conservative or crazy), it’s a good idea to get the other ladies from the wedding party (not including the bride-to-be – she’s busy enough with wedding plans) to help you out. If the others aren’t take-charge kind of people, come up with a list of items you’d like to accomplish, and assign something to everyone.

Involving everyone in the planning process is not only more fun, but it will take the pressure off of you trying to get everything done by yourself. The whole bachelorette party planning process (say that 3 times fast) should be fun, so anything you can do to make it more enjoyable for everyone involved will make for a successful party.

A bachelor party serves as an event to convince someone that he made the right choice in finally tying the knot soon. It is also the last night that a groom-to-be has a chance to enjoy all the pleasures of an unmarried man. Basically, a bachelor or a stag party is a night of fun restricted to men. The arrangement of this occasion is left to the hands of the groomsman with the itinerary always kept secret to the groom. Though the idea of this kind of party sounds carefree, its preparations can actually be complicated especially with the part where a stripper has to enter the scene. A stag party should play between the boundaries of naughtiness and appropriateness and sometimes that is just too hard to accomplish especially if men are tasked to arrange the preparations.  Besides from that, the venue, food, and the program are also other factors to take care of.

One of the most important bachelor party tips that can help make things easier is to plan the event with a very good timing. Do not do it on the eve of the wedding because the groom needs to have proper rest before his big day. One smart choice is to do it a week before the big occasion on Friday or Saturday nights when most people are already free from their jobs. The next thing that should be considered is the food preparations. If the party has a theme, the type of food to be served should follow the selected theme. If there is none, however, preparing finger foods like fries, burgers, pizza, and Buffalo wings are recommended because they can go well as snacks or with beer. If budget is sufficient, hiring a caterer is good but asking someone’s mother to cook is also a good idea. Another one of some bachelor party tips is to choose the best place where the occasion will be held. Going to a stripper bar is a good idea but making sure that the groom will receive his deserved attention from the performers should be assured. It is never wise to have the party in crowded places with other people around because this is supposed to be a private event for the groom-to-be. Instead, doing it in a friend’s house or a small resort can already suffice.

The last of bachelor party tips is the proper choosing of the stripper. In selecting a performer for the stag party, it is highly important to choose someone who is attractive, witty, and knows what she is doing. Make sure that the stripper to be hired knows her boundaries and has a couple of tricks behind her back. Request for an added twist on the performance. For example, ask the stripper to invite the groom to go on the stage with her and let her dress him in women’s clothes for example. The ideas are endless to make this occasion as fun as possible. Only in this part of the party, it is important to make sure that the groom will not do anything that can make him feel guilty towards his bride-to-be.
