He has been swearing at me in front of my father, saying I have no manners and I am good for nothing. My father in law said he wanted me and my husband to split up. He does not like me because I do not cook /clean for him or do any household chores for him like a ‘good’ daughter in law. He expected me to be an uneducated submissive mute which he could control but when she saw I use my own mind he started resenting me. He bad mouths my dad to my husband behind my back in the hope he will stir up trouble in my marriage (and me and my husband have now started arguing). He tried to name my first born son but when I said I wanted to name my own son, all hell broke lose. At my wedding, me any my husband wanted a simple registry wedding, again all hell broke lose, he wanted a traditional indian wedding. We won there as well. When we bought our first home and my husband moved out of the family home, my father in law blamed me yet again. I am the antichrist in his eyes. I am fed up of being picked on by him. My husband thinks I moan too much but it hurts, its one rule for the man’s own daughter and another rule for me. How can I keep my marriage in tact with all this hate?
ps I refuse to talk to my FIL now as he is just too rude and is not willing to listed to any other person’s opinion on anything.
PPS I have never dis-respected the bloke intentionally. In fact I tried to involve myself with my husband’s family but they all are hell bent on trying to split me and my husband up…..
