So many times with event floral, you find after the event that you have left over flower arrangements. What I thought I would do in this article is offer some suggestions for floral arranging and show some samples of elegant but cheap flower arrangements for your events.

One example of a wedding flower arrangement is to take hydrangeas and create a wreath around a hurricane candle and holder. If it is around the holidays, use a red hurricane and purchase white hydrangeas to make a stylish example of holiday décor via floral arranging.

This flower decor is a good illustration of easy and cheap flower arrangements because you can pick the flowers up at your local market or flower shop and the hurricane holder and candle at a craft store. Then, just place the flowers around the hurricane.

Want to add some color to your wedding flower arrangement? Then pick up some colored roses that match your wedding theme and insert those into the wreath of hydrangeas to give an alternate look to your cheap flower arrangements.

Floral arranging using flower clusters and mixing the clusters with votives is another idea you can use on your buffet or table centerpiece. Just purchase roses, Gerber daisies, tulips or any other favorite flower of yours, cut the stems low and place as clusters on the table interspersed with candles to create inexpensive flower arrangements. Just make sure not to use any type of heavily scented flowers such as lilies or tiger lilies on the table so you don’t overwhelm your senses with the food and the perfume of the flowers.

Sometimes the host at an event will offer you the large table centerpiece to take home with you. This event floral is so large and you may not have room anywhere to keep it. However, what you can do is take some of the flowers home with you and then use your vases or a water pitcher and create beautiful flower arrangements that will last the week after the event.

Other cheap flower arrangements include using baby’s breath around a hurricane glass holder and candle. You can do an all-white look using white roses or intermix some red roses to create an elegant yet inexpensive wedding flower arrangement.

In fact, why not theme an entire wedding using baby breath including the bridal bouquet as the event floral to compliment the above mentioned table centerpieces? I have seen some of the industry’s top designers go with this theme and if done correctly, is elegant, stylish and inexpensive.

I hope you found these suggestions for floral arranging and using cheap flower arrangements helpful. Using candles and a limited amount of specific event floral can help keep costs down especially for a wedding flower arrangement. Arranging Wedding Transportation

Arranging for a wedding transportation can be a complicated one. You have to consider several factors before you arrange such transport. Whatever modes of transportation you are to hire just make sure that the operators and drivers of such vehicle are professionals and certified to bring each one to its destination safely.

Hiring a wedding transport entails certain cost and fees. The cost usually depends on the type of vehicle chosen. There are standard cars that are less expensive and quite expensive like limousines. The cost also includes how long the vehicle is being use.

Most cars hired have only two seating capacity, that is just right for the bride however such is not applicable for bridesmaid and other wedding attendant. One must hire another car with more than the two seating capacity to accommodate more people.

The weather should also be considered. There are people who want to be unique and would want an open horse-drawn carriage which is not such a smart idea if your wedding falls on winter or rainy season. Such transportation is only good for summer weddings.

Also, wedding vehicle color and style should follow the wedding’s theme but the couple will always have the last say as to what kind of car they want. Also before deciding to rent one make sure to ask the company to what extent you can decorate the car. You don’t want to pay any extra fees just for this.

So make sure to talk with the operator and lay down all the facts. You don’t want to pay hidden charges. You don’t want to be surprise with those extra bills at the end of the day. Take your time and find a reputable company that you can really trust. Find one that has reliable drivers who can safely take you to your destination.

Are they legally binding in the same sense as a civil wedding? My partner and I want to have a Pagan wedding.

If you are planning to make your own wedding flowers, you will need to do a lot of careful planning and organizing.  You will need to make a list of all the materials you will need to gather for do it yourself wedding flowers.  This list should include :

Very sharp shears or scissors Fine wire (0.28 mm or 0.32 mm) for delicate jobs Florists’ wire that is 0.71 mm thick and 10 to 12 inches (260 or 310 mm) long Florists’ tape for wiring flowers and foliage Floral foam bouquet holder Floral foam.  Measure your dishes / containers so you will know what size to cut your floral foam to. Dishes or plastic flower saucers for table centers.  There is often a selection of containers / vases available for use at churches). Flower preservative Roll of floral foam sticky tape for taping the floral foam to the vase / container Hot glue gun Glue sticks for the glue gun Ribbon for bows Large bucket to hold garbage Pails for conditioning your flowers and foliage Small watering can and spray bottle for misting Drop cloth Broom and dustpan Chicken wire to cover floral foam if you are making larger arrangements Cloths for cleanup after you are finished Plastic bags to store corsages / boutonnieres after they are assembled

Take this list and check to see how many items you need to buy  to make your own wedding flowers and which ones you can just borrow.  Get all of these items together several weeks before your wedding to avoid extra busyness and stress when you need to have a clear head.  Do it yourself wedding flowers can be fun and rewarding, but you need to be prepared with a plan laid out ahead of time.

Basics of Arranging a Bouquet

The first step to approach bouquet arrangement is, in believing that this can be done by either man or woman. This task is definitely not gender specific. There are many kinds of flowers, fillers, colors, and covering materials to choose from in building a bouquet, so just like any other skill, all it requires is some practice.

Floristry or floral arrangements is a large topic, so our focus will only be in the basics of creation of acceptable floral bouquets. The topic itself of bouquets is mostly associated with weddings. It is the primary icon that is top of mind in western society. Being the best showcase for most styles of bouquets, it would be best to mention the commonly used types of bouquets according to http://weddings.weddingchannel.com/wedding-planning-ideas/wedding-flowers/qa/what-are-the-different-bouquet-styles.aspx, which are the following:

Arm or Presentation Bouquet: Also commonly used in pageants, awards and competitions usually using long stemmed flowers such as roses and calla lilies, and is arranged to be “cradled” by the arm. Imagine it running through an arm’s length, leaning perpendicularly chest high on the individual while still allowing a free hand for a congratulatory shake. Depending on the actual choice of flowers used, it can be complimented with other fillers or left pure for simplicity. It is traditional fastened with a striking ribbon whether by hand or braided. The simplest kind can even use a minimum of six roses.

Biedermeier: http://www.yourdictionary.com relates to the origin of this style to a 19th century German style of furniture design which is solid, comfortable and simple making it a very popular choice for today’s modern weddings. This is a very compact arrangement using flower bulbs with very uniform sizes – arranged in tight concentric circle from the center outward. From the top it is viewed like a target and from the side looks like a Top. Accents are hardly used, sometimes using two or more colors as an option. This uses most floral tape, some ribbons and some wires to give the handle a tight, rigid grip.

Cascade or Teardrop: The third most popular bouquet of choice is a very eloquently flowing design. It’s a top-heavy arrangement that has the flowers tendrils drooping towards the ground. This uses a full armament of fillers and accents that gives a very royal and opulent atmosphere to the occasion.

The next 5 types are not so frequently used but may serve as a unique flavor to very progressive wedding decorators or arrangers.

Throw Bouquet: it’s actually a scaled down version of the bridal bouquet which is really designed to be easily thrown at the single ladies in the audience.

Nosegay: a smaller version of the Biedermeier that uses similar flowers that are also tightly wrapped with ribbon or floral tape.

Pomander: This is best partnered if the bearer intends to wear gloves. It’s a hanging ball of flowers slipped on the wrist via a ribbon. The ball effect is created by fixing the stems on a Styrofoam type floral aid.

Tussy-Mussy or Hand-Tied: This is a very natural concept, loosely tied together with a sparse mix of blossoms falling usually to a cone-shaped design.

Finally, the Composite: The most unusual bouquet concept that intends the creation of a giant customized flower using other flower parts.

In describing the styles above, we have mentioned the most important materials in making a bouquet. http://home.howstuffworks.com/how-to-arrange-flowers6.htm aptly describes bouquets as large corsages. Remember those things you gave or received from your date during prom? Girls either had to wear it on your wrist or pin them on their dress. It was usually made up of a single large bulb flower with minimal accents or a dainty orchid arrangement.

The five things you must have with you at all times would be floral tape, chicken wire, ribbons, and sharp scissors. For a sturdy arrangement, first try using long stemmed blossoms. Wrap some wire along the stem to give it more support and give you the ability to bend them into shape later on. Don’t forget to trim the ends.

Arrange the stems and the desired fillers on a clean table and without disturbing the arrangement above, clasp them together at least one hands length from the bottom to make a handle of sorts. It doesn’t have to be too wide as women generally have smaller hands. While holding together, look at the set from the sides and above if they are symmetrical and balanced, if so tie them together from where you hold them with wire and floral tape. Make sure it’s tight and trim the ends again to prevent any pricking.

Take the ribbon and cut three times the length of the desired bow. Do not depend on the bow to keep the arrangement together that is why we use the floral tape and wire. There’s an entire art into making ribbons, but for starters go for the shoelace version and just extend the ends for a drooping effect.

That’s basically it, with a lot of practice and experiments on other materials you can try doing the other styles mentioned here even from the luxury of your home. Cheers!
