Be Stylish – Style And Dressing Advice For Men

I bought a shop sample wedding dress and signed a contract which said all sales are final and once gown is ordered i cannot cancel. The gown was never ordered because it was already in the shop. I paid £500 for the dress and £350 for alterations. Can i get my money back on the alterations (it hasn’t been altered yet) or exchange the sample dress for another dress in store?

I’m new to wedding photography so recently gave out leaflets offering my services as a free extra wedding photographer (in addition to the professional one) aiming mainly to take candid, non-posed photos and only charging (very fair prices) for the ones they actually like so there is no obligation to pay anything whatsoever.

A woman called me today and has asked me to do her wedding at the end of June. Obviously I’ve said yes and am looking forward to it. I’ve said I’ll call her back in a couple of weeks to go over all the details… what I need to know is what things I need to go over with her. Obviously times and locations and all that but what else should I ask? Any help will be very much appreciated.

Oh also… something that’s been bugging me. What do I do about food?! Obviously I’m not gonna sit down to a big three course dinner with the guests but generally do they provide you with something to eat or do you take your own food and disappear for a little bit to eat it?
Perki: People have differing opinions about how to get into photography. Some people say courses are the best way, others would argue that apprenticeships are the best way. I want to get into it on my own as much as I can and while other photographers may disagree with going about it like this, I feel it’s the best way for me.

I’m well aware that other photographers will not necessarily be happy finding out there is another photographer there which is why I’m making it very clear to the people hiring me that this may well be the case. In fact, with this booking, they haven’t yet hired the professional photographer and will be very open about my presence there when they do.
Perki… again: I know it’s a tough industry and other photographers can be territorial and will often not appreciate what I’m doing. (I hope some of them will have a bit of empathy though but that remains to be seen.)

However, I also know that not following the crowd can get great results. I don’t need other photographers to like what I’m doing, I need customers to like it.

I have brought a beautiful chiffon green and aqua knee length skirt with a subtle paisly pattern. It is a bit flowy and sits low on my hips. What can I dress with this to smarten it up fas a wedding outfit in the summer. What colours would be best and what kind of top and shoes?

9 months to go. Is there things we should be doing each month now??

No matter what we have planned so far i keep thinking we are forgetting something. Ceremony, Venue, Dresses, Suits, DJ, etc etc etc.

(Costs). Am not a millionaire but want everything right. Overall approx budget for wedding…… have ear marked 18K.

Questions:
1. Flowers, venue, bride, bridesmaids etc etc
2. Venue decoration + ideas please.
3. Cars (for 8 bridesmaids) already booked horse and carriage (for the bride). Limo? or 2 cars? Our house to Venue is only 3-4 miles.

4. Can anyone recommend a photographer SE England Essex, Kent area. Budget ????? up-to £1200, but will want a lot for this. Does this sound about right?
