My best friend gets married in 3 weeks and they are having trouble finding songs that they like enough to use.

What songs do they like? They don’t have to be traditional slow love songs.
Some nontraditional ideas:

Catchy and upbeat – Life with You by the Proclaimers
a friend of mine had shakesperes sister – stay .its not that soppy but still was still lovely as a wedding song
everything by michael buble
absolutely love that song, it’s the one i’ll have at my wedding one day =]
“So many stars” by Emilie-Claire Barlow. It’s a song about trying to find the right song/love in a world filled with so many. I think it’s so appropriate for couples trying to find the perfect wedding song.
It’s a jazz standard, so it’s very classy!
‘The way you look tonight’ _ Frank Sinatra or Tony Bennett
‘Come rain or come shine’ Ray Charles
Lady in Red
John Michael Montgomery – “Home To You”
flowers in the window by travis
its a song about love, getting on, having babies + letting the world go by.
its esp love the line
‘you stand up, out in the crowd, you are one in a million and i love you soooooo, lets watch the flowers groooowwwww’
i also like the beatles ‘love love me do’ cos i think its an old romantic, funky song & my family and friends would fall about the place laughing their heads off!
The Stereophonics version of “You sexy thing” I think it’s lush!
Usually couples have a song that is special to them, but it appears that your friend doesn’t have ‘their song’. Thus I would suggest they consider what kind of dance they want to do – then choose appropriate music to fit. A number of couples these days are taking dance lessons to choreograph theirs to avoid embarrassing shuffling! My daughter and fiancĂ© have chosen Jamie McCullum ‘Moondance’, which is slow and romantic, and does not require anything too energetic. That is something which has to be considered, because the bride may well be wearing a dress that inhibits what may be her normal dancing movement. I went to a wedding a month ago where the bride and groom had taken two dance lessons, then practised at home. What they hadn’t considered was the effect the dress would have on the big day, and as a result it didn’t really work – groom stepping on dress, dress wrapping around her legs as they twirled etc. Thankfully they and guests found it amusing, but it really wasn’t what they had in mind. Hope your friend finds something, and hope you all have a wonderful day.
my #1 pick:
“this never happened before” by paul mccartney – it’s one of his newer songs (from 2002 i think). i love it cuz it’s such a simple little love song & i just love paul’s voice, haha
other suggestions:
“a certain softness” by paul mccartney – again a soft simple melody, but this one’s more about the bride than both of them together
“come what may” by nicole kidman & ewan mcgregor – from the moulin rouge movie, maybe a little cheesy but it’s still romantic
“i want to spend my lifetime loving you” by marc anthony & tina arena – from the mask of zorro movie, a beautiful duet
