Whenever we hear of weddings, what comes to our mind? We immediately think of white gowns, suits, dresses, accessories, people, food and many others. For the bride in Brooklyn, itâs the white Brooklyn bridal gown that she saw in the store. She immediately thinks how she can stand out on that special day. But does the bride really have to think about white Brooklyn bridal gowns? Why white? Why not black or red? Color experts have related the color of gowns as a symbol. White, they say, symbolizes purity of heart and innocence. Also it was believed to symbolize virginity and should be worn only by virgin brides. Black symbolizes mourning and red as revenge.
White wedding is a traditional formal Western wedding as it refers to the wedding dress. This color started its popularity during Victorian period. When Queen Victoria wore a white lace dress on her wedding with Price Albert, her picture was published in public which attract other women to wear white wedding gown. The white Brooklyn bridal was credited to Queen Victoria.
In other parts of the world, different colors of bridal gowns are worn. Other wedding gowns have a red color which symbolizes good luck in China. Red and green became the conventional garment as it symbolizes auspiciousness and fertility in northern parts of India. Some cultures identify gold as the best color for the 50th Wedding celebration.
In a capsule, colors of Brooklyn Bridal gowns not only symbolized the beauty and the character of the bride but the tradition and culture as well.
