This is a tribute video for a dear friend of mine, jeremy norman aka usedtobe803, he was a inspiration to me we had many conversations and i truly loved him dearly for having the courage to be himself. He even sang my song for me georgia on my mind, and it is beautiful, when my home burned down in October 2007 he and singwelladeb were the only people out here that were there for me, i felt as if i were cursed as it seems this past year has been nothing but pain and everything bad happend on the 23 rd of the month, and when he passed on december 23, 2007 i lost it…. to say the least… i could not make it to the funeral or wake as the pstd from the fire is so bad, i cant drive or anything, but jeremy did give me some thing no one can ever take away, friendship and a renewal of my faith in god. i know that there is a plan for me and i will write my book, and Jeremy had a hand in this as he did say to me listen to what you tell me .. dont give up .. and well i wont give up, the last conversation i had with Jeremy was 2 days before my house burned down ( i was trapped , reason for post traumatic sybdrom) and he said that he would love to do the renewal of my husband and I wedding vows in a church where i would finally get to wear the long white dress and do all the wedding stuff we did not get to do. And i was going to be there when he walked again for the first time, we had alot of agreement as to a certain person in both our lives that we knew to be a fake and well i lost …
In May 1992, my mom and my dad renewed their wedding vows. They celebrated 25 years of Wedded Bliss. I sang the country hit “Crazy” by Kenny Rogers for my parents during the distribution of the Holy Communion during Mass. I found out at a later time that Father Mallahan, who presided over the Mass, was not happy about the title of the song and was vocalizing his concern during the reception. The song itself is beautiful and conveys a timeless declaration of love. But, Father Mallahan didn’t enjoy the implication of the word “Crazy”, especially with the amplified sound of my voice continuously and loudly singing the word “Crazy”, resonating throughout the Sacred House of God where hymns of Praise are normally sung. The procession to the altar is supposed to be a quiet time for reflection and the word “Crazy” was floating all around. I still giggle about the unintentional controversy this caused. I was spreading “Crazy” in a positive light, reflecting the goodness and power of the love that fuels the intentions of this beautiful country hit from Kenny Rogers! Father Mallahan wasn’t too upset though; a kind and gentle man with an ever-present smile. I hope that most people would appreciate the context for which “Crazy” was used in this situation. It was all good. As big fans of Kenny Rogers, my mom and dad were happy with my song choice and that’s why I sang it. Mom, I know you’ve already enjoyed this from Heaven.
